Aromatherapy is an ancient therapy that has been used for centuries to treat illness and ailments. As far back as 4th. Century BC Hippocrates, the father of medicine said 'The way to health is to have an aromatic bath and scented massage every day'. He recognised that burning certain aromatic substances offered protection against contagious disease.
Aromatherapy is a complementary and holistic therapy; it works on the whole person the mind, body and spirit. It also benefits your psychological well being. It helps to start the persons own natural healing process.
Aromatherapy is the use of pure aromatic plant essences through massage and topical application. These are used externally and use a range of diluted essential oils. The oils can be distilled from flowers, leaves, seeds roots, fruits and woods depending on the plant. The oils can be a stimulant, relaxant, anti-infectious and anti-inflammatory. To promote health and well being. It aims to stimulate circulation, releases muscle tension and encourages the essences to be absorbed, restoring balance to both body and mind. An aromatherapy massage enhances well being and helps rejuvenation and regeneration of the human body.

What does a session involve?
" We will fill in a Client Questionnaire form and have a brief chat.
" A range of oils will be chosen to use in the massage that suit your own individual needs.
" During a massage one's privacy will be continuously protected and completely covered with towels, only areas worked on at a given time are uncovered.
" You will be asked to relax and enjoy the session.
" Once finished you will be advised if possible not to shower, the oils carry on working after the session.
" We will then have a talk about anything you felt and any emotions that surface.
" I will then select some products for you to use at home e.g. in the bath, in a vaporiser, if needed.
After the Reflexology Session.
" You may feel completely relaxed.
" It may alter your sleep, allowing a deeper relaxed sleep.
" You may release toxins and need to go to the toilet more frequent, so drink lots of water to help flush out toxins.
" You may develop a mild cold.
" You may experience an emotional release.
" You may develop the odd spot, as again the skin rids the body of toxins.
" You may develop a headache.
" You may feel completely energised.
" You may feel nothing at all and have no side effects.
These are all part of the natural healing process, if you have any concerns please contact us. You are best to rest and relax after the session. Drink lots of water, cut back on tea, coffee and alcohol, also the amount you smoke.
" Do not take oils internally.
" Only apply deliluted oils to the skin.
" Occuled Vertebral Artery - Does not deliver enough blood to the brain and therefore dangerous to massage.
" High Blood Pressure.
" Heart conditions or cardiovascular problems like thrombosis or phlebitis.
" High temperature.
" Infectious, bacterial and viral.
" Abdominal Pain.
" Skin eruptions like boils.
" Skin Infections like herpes and scabies.
" Some skin conditions may require a skin test.
" Back pain due to spinal problems.
" Large bruised areas.
" After recent surgery.
" Pregnancy, high risk, first timer, early or late stages of pregnancy.
" Varicous veins.
" Scar tissue.
" Inflamed areas.
" Un-explained lumps and bumps, unless checked by doctor.
Please do not eat at least an hour before a massage, or drink any alcohol or take drugs.

We only offer Back and Shoulder Massage.
Time roughly 45-60 minutes, including oils. £25.00
