'A Bit off Colour'
This is a saying often use to describe a person who is feeling unwell. It is an intuitive feeling we perceive to describe a person needing a colour/colours in their life to bring their body back into harmony and balance.
There are many other sayings we hear relating to colour, like:
" Looking at the world through rose coloured glasses.
" Feeling blue, out of the blue, got the blues, to look blue, once in a blue moon, short of blue murder.
" Green with envy, green eyed monster.
" Red rag to a bull, red letter day, in the red, red with rage.
" In the pink.
" Having a golden opportunity.
" Black with rage, black mood.
" White as snow.
Colour is part of our natural world; it is a natural form of energy vibration in the Universe. It fills our subtle (Aura) and physical body. It interacts with our own energy field. Colour permeates our lives, colour is all around us. We unconsciously attract and repel the different colours, depending on what we need in our life at the time.
Sunlight is pure white light, contained within the white light are the seven colours of the rainbow:
During the day and night the colours around us are changing, from purple at 1am to red at 7pm.
Colours are found in different wave lengths red being the longest and lowest frequency and violet the shortest and highest frequency. The colours red, orange and yellow are stimulating and the colours green, turquoise, blue and violet are calming. Colours also have both positive and negative qualities. Too much or too little light influences our general health and well being. When we spend too much time in artificial light it can cause us to become ill and suffer from 'SAD'.
Health can be seen as a state of perfect physical, mental, social and spiritual well being. It is a healthy mind, body and spirit, all working in harmony and balance with each other. The symptoms of disease are a sign that there is a shortage of, or improper utilisation of a colour and light in the cells and organs of the human body. This may be due to factors such as our lifestyle, our environment, stress or too much or too little of a particular colour frequency in our energy system. This imbalance can be corrected by selective use of colour frequencies. When we are stressed, unhappy or unwell the absorption of colour is less efficient.
Disease manifests in the physical body after a disturbance in the energy flow, which can first be detected in the subtle body (aura), this can be treated by using vibrational energy work like colour therapy. If the disturbance of the energy flow is left it becomes blocked and this can if left form into dis-ease, where our body is no longer at ease with itself. When we use colour therapy the colour is aimed towards the related chakra, which then distributes this to the organs and endocrine system.
Chakras are like batteries when they are charged with colour they make us feel well, but when they are low we feel off colour.
How Colour Therapy Works.
'And darkness was upon the face of the deep. And spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said 'Let there be light' And there was light'.
Genesis 1, 2-3
Colour Therapists believe that organs and energy centres within the body (chakras) each vibrate to a different specific colour and that by applying colour to the corresponding area of the body, it can be restored to its correct vibration. Colours may be used on their own or combinations used to enhance the potential of the colour healing. We can treat part of the body or the whole body.
We take light into our system in 3 ways:
" Through our eyes.
" Absorbed through our skin.
" The food and drink we consume.
When a colour is used its complementary colour is also used:
" Red (Complementary Colour Turquoise.)
" Orange (Blue).
" Yellow (Violet).
" Green (Magenta).
" Turquoise (Red).
" Blue (Orange).
" Violet (Yellow).
" Gold (Indigo).
In 1932 Gerrard and Hessay, two Californian psychologists scientifically established blue light has a calming effect and red a stimulating affect.

Treatment Session what to expect.
A colour therapy test and assessment techniques are based on the beliefs that illness and susceptibility can be gauged from a personality analysis. Our negative thought process is the origin of all illness and disease.
" We would first fill in an in depth client questionnaire to look at personal history, health and where you are at, at the moment.
" We would look at your positive and negative association to colour, any psychological problems behind this.
" We would look at mood change throughout the day, like e.g. when you feel tired etc.
" We would then use a range of methods to look at the colours you may need to bring your body back into balance.
It may be in the way of a spinal chart to look at physical manifestation, metabolic process, emotions, intellect and spirituality.
A Colour Reflection Reading using a set of coloured shaped cards. The logical left side of the brain focuses on the form and the creative right side of the brain on the emotions, this means the brain works as a whole, the conscious and subconscious mind working as one. This looks at colour we like and dislike and what it means.
We may use a pendulum to dowse or Kinesiology to see which colours you need.
An aura camera may be used to look at the colours in your aura, what they mean. We can also look at organs in body and the chakras and decide which areas of the body needs treatment.
Luscher Colour Test.
Colour Breathing (Full Session).
Colour associations contribute to a young child's consciousness, by the time they grow older, feelings. Memories and meanings are attached to colours and so are experiences. This results in colour becoming a feature of the subconscious. Happy, sad, joyous, angry, frightening, emotions may be attached to a colour; this affects us on a physical physiological, emotional and spiritual way.
Theo Gimbel (Colour Therapy 1994) States:
'Your health and personal development depends just as much on this continual exchange of energy in and out of your body, as on free circulation of energy inside you. Ultimately, the result of all movement ceasing, is death - no movement into or out of the body.'
Benefits of Colour Therapy.
It is beneficial for numerous conditions physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. It works on the subtle and physical levels to remove energy blockages within the aura and physical body.
It can help with behavioural problems, anxiety and stress and aid relaxation. It can help bring our body back into harmony and balance and to obtain the health and vitality we need. It can rebuild our health after an operation or illness. It can help build self worth and self esteem and promote success and personal growth.
Like with all therapies it works best if you have about 6 treatment sessions. It also works best with a complete life style change, including diet, rest, relaxation, exercise, removing all toxins and substances from body etc.
These are based on the colour as well as the specific therapy ones. These cannot be listed at this point as too in depth, an initial consultation and client questionnaire needs to be completed first. Then a colour analysis needs to be taken. The suitable type of therapy will then be chosen to help start your own natural healing process off.
