Indian Head Massage.
For over 5,000 years the traditional art of Indian Head Massage is based on the ancient system of medicine known Ayurveda. This is the science of life and longevity. It is the approach to balance the body, mind and spirit and for the promotion of long life. Indian Head Massage as taught and practiced in the West is a mixture of traditional Indian and Western Massage Techniques.
Traditionally Indian Head Massage was for the head, but it has now been Westernised to include other parts of the body, neck, shoulders and upper arms, which is used as a form of a stress management treatment.

Contra-Indications which may affect full treatment:
" Skin Disorders. " Recent Scar tissue. " Severe Bruising, open cuts or abrasions. " Undiagnosed Lumps, Bumps and Swellings. " Allergies. " Asthma. " Medication. " Pregnancy.
Indian Head Massage Session.
An Indian head Massage treatment usually lasts for approximately 30-45 minutes, although treatment can be shortened to 15-20 minutes. The treatment consists of the back, shoulders arms, neck and scalp. It can be given with or without essential oils. Depending if oils are used whether the client is fully clothed or removes top and places a towel around them. The client is seated and relaxed on a low backed chair; they may relax forward on a pillow for part of the treatment.
After Session.
A client's reaction to Indian Head Massage may vary according to their physical and emotional condition and how much stress a person is under at the time.
Healing Reactions that may occur:
" Feeling of tiredness and lethargy because of a release of toxins. " Feeling of dizziness or nausea. " Aching and soreness in the muscles because of the release of toxins and the nerve fibres responding to the massage. " Heightened emotional state, depression, weepiness or laughter. " Increased urination. " Increased secretions of mucus from the nose and mouth. " Cold Like symptoms. " Disturbed sleep pattern may be restless. " Relief from stress and muscular tension. " An increased feeling of awareness, calm and peaceful feelings. " Improved sleep, deep and restful. " Feeling of alertness and being clearer in mental thoughts. " Increased energy levels. " Elevation of mood. " Pain relief. " Increased joint mobility.
After the treatment you are best to cut down on caffeine, alcohol and tobacco. You will be asked to drink lots of water to clear toxins out of your body. To go home and rest if possible.
